The Devil’s Beatitudes

Heard this at church tonight and thought it was very thought provoking! If the Devil were to write his own list of “Beatitudes” this is probably pretty close to what they would sound like.

“Blessed are those Christians who are too tired, too busy, and too distracted to spend time with their fellow Christians in Church

-they are good candidates to back slide.

Blessed are those Christians who wait to be asked and expect to be thanked

-those I can use to slow things down.

Blessed are those Christians who are touchy; with a bit of luck they may stop going to church and get others to do likewise

-they are my missionaries

Blessed are those Christians who are troublemakers

-they are my best wrecking crew.

Blessed are those Christians who have no time to pray

-they are easy prey for me.

Blessed are those Christians who are complainers

-they are my best discouragers.

Blessed are those Christians who are bored with the minister’s mannerism and mistakes

-they will get nothing out of his sermons.

Blessed are those Christians who expect to be invited to his own church

-they are part of the problem instead of the solution.

Blessed are those Christians who gossip

-they shall cause strife and divisions that please me.

Blessed are those Christians who professes to love God but hates his brother and sister

-they shall be with me forever.

Blessed are those Christians who read this and think it is about other people and not themselves

-I’ve got you!

Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” – Ephesians 6:11

Pinterest Projects

One of the first things I found on Pinterest that has (almost) changed my life ;) was this pin:

How to Fold a Fitted Sheet

I absolutely despise folding fitted sheets especially when watching my mom do it and make it look so easy and the sheet is perfectly folded without any wrinkles, blah, blah, blah. This little pin has helped out a lot! I still don’t like folding fitted sheets and they still don’t look as nice as this picture (she must have ironed that sheet) but it has helped.

I really want to try this one next. :)

Add baking soda to the water when you hard boil eggs. It raises the pH of the water and makes them easier to peel by reducing the albumen's ability to stick to the shell. Nice tip!

This next one we tried at my job. Peeling boiled eggs.

In this pin you learn that adding baking soda to the water while boiling eggs will help you peel the shells off easier. This was a success the first time we tried it and a major fail the second time :/ of course it probably didn’t help that the second time we did this we were boiling over 50 eggs and the first time only a couple so I think I just didn’t add enough baking soda to the water for the amount of eggs. Still, this is definitely worth doing again!

From my “Hair, Skin and Nails…: board I have tried this:

How to Apply Liquid Foundation.

I know you guys all think that because I went to Cosmetology school that means I know all the tips and tricks… WRONG! Wish I did. Now I don’t follow these directions to a “T” I use them more as guidelines for getting the non-pancake face, pretty, even coverage, foundation application. This guys article gives very clear instructions with picture guides like the one I’ve copied here. If you wear Liquid foundation this would be my “go-to” guide to get started.

Beauty Club Getting rid of Blackheads with fine salt and soda. Take gel facial wash, mix with tablespoon of baking soda and tablespoon of salt. Apply to damp skin with cotton pad, leave for 5 mins.

This next one I tried and did not like. Recipe for Removing Blackheads

The recipe was in the title section under the picture; this is how it went.

“Beauty Club Getting rid of Blackheads with fine salt and soda. Take gel facial wash, mix with tablespoon of baking soda and tablespoon of salt. Apply to damp skin with cotton pad, leave for 5 mins.”

I personally didn’t like it 1. because it burned really bad – but I also have sensitive skin so that may have been my problem – and 2 because I could not tell a difference after using it. If you decide to try it let me know how it worked for you, like I said it may have just been me :/

I’ve done some other things but you’ll just have to come back to check those out!

Have you tried any of these? Will you? let me know what you think

Special Blessing

I wanted to share this real quick. I ran across a blog called “The Better Mom” while I was looking at things on Pinterest that I’ve done to show you (tomorrow). Anyways, I decided to follow it for a while to check it out and see if it was something I’d be interested in staying with – my disclaimer – I have not read all the content on this blog, and therefore by sharing this one post I read I am not necessarily endorsing or recommending this blog as a “Good Read” quite yet. – disclaimer finished! :) whew now on to what I wanted to share.

Some of you know that Kenny and I have had a rough couple of weeks. Its been an emotional time of testing and uncertainty for both of us and I would ask your prayers on our behalf as we have some big decisions to make in the coming weeks. (If you do not already know our situation I would like to politely request that you not ask questions but rather keep us in your prayers knowing that God knows what we need. Thank you in advance.) As I was saying before, I ran across this blog and read one of the posts for today. if you would like to read the whole thing you can follow this link. It was a very good, and to the point post that was worth reading.

The writer of the post was quoting a paragraph from a book she was reading called “Dancing With My Father” by Sally Clarkson (Again, I have not read this book myself but merely received a piece of comfort from this excerpt).

To dance in the midst of terrible suffering is to resolve, “I will not be a victim. I will not allow this situation to determine the response of my heart, because I have this life, this chance to trust God, to show his reality through my circumstances. I resolve to remain strong and faithful because of the loving God who holds my hand.” ~Sally Clarkson, Dancing With my Father

That thought “I resolve to remain strong and faithful because of the loving God who holds my hand.” it makes me continually think “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” – Hebrews 13:5. God has not left us to go through this trial alone, He’s been there all the time and will continue to be here, with us.

The other encouragement from this; my role in the situation at hand and the ones that will come in the future is to resolve “…not to be a victim. I will not allow this situation to determine the response of my heart, because I have… this chance to trust God.”

Its Been a While!

Sorry it has been such a long time since I wrote anything on here things have been crazy! My friend, Shannon sent me a message about 2 months ago letting me know that my blog was “naked” and that I needed to put something on here. :) So this is me, letting you know that we are still alive and also that my “plan” is to start blogging some of my Pinterest projects – the good, the bad, and the ugly! – yes, there have been a few of all three but most have been good! Look for me to start back on the blog with some new stuff soon! until then.
