I have been following The Gypsy Mama for a while and enjoying the 5 Minute Fridays and what people share as their 5 minutes of bliss. Its been really neat to see how one word can bring up so many diverse thoughts. This, however, is my first time writing anything (add sheepish grin here). But when I saw the prompt word I couldn’t help myself!
So here are the rules
1. Write for 5 minutes flat for pure unedited love of the written word.
2. Link back to The Gypsy Mama and invite others to join in.
3. Be generous and leave an encouraging comment for the person who linked up before you. That’s the best part about this community. And if you don’t have a blog, you are invited to leave your five minutes of writing as a comment on the Gypsy Mama Page.
So here goes. Start.
Red
Its no secret that my husbands favorite color is Red. I remember the first time he walked into the Barbershop where I worked when we were first talking. He had on a red shirt, red windbreaker pants, red socks and white shoes (only because he couldn’t find red ones he liked) and by the way everything he wore was adidas brand too! My friends at work used to tease and call him the “Red M&M.”
What has really been on my mind lately is how thankful I am for my husband. I talked to my sister yesterday and in the coarse of conversation one of my ex-boyfriends was brought up. I began remembering how wonderful everyone thought he was and how terrible he turned out to be. I have thanked the Lord numerous times for getting me out of that situation.
There was another I dated before I met Kenny, and he was/is a great guy. But looking back it is very clear how God steered me away from him as well so I could be guided by the all-knowing hand of my Heavenly Father into the wonderful arms of my loving husband. God knew just what I needed in a spouse and he graciously gave me His Perfect Will for my life.
Today, I am very thankful for “Red.”
Stop.
