Day 31
Monday, June 4th will be our (Kenny & I) 1st anniversary! :)
Sweet!!!
I took this picture last night after church of Kenny and I :) thought you’d all like to see what an old married couple looks like *wink*wink*
Day 30 – Your Personality
I’ve been told that this painting captures my personality. My question is, what personality is that? I think it would be fun to see what personality trait you think this picture is. Leave me a comment below! :)
Well I warned you all when I started this that I was probably, most likely, going to get behind on posting my pictures… you were warned! :) here are days 17 – 29 sorry its going to be a long post but there’s lots to look at and I hope you enjoy it :)
Day 17 – Snack
I used my Cricut to make the letters and glued them on this canvas – now I just need to get it hung in the laundry room…
Day 19 – A Favorite Place
This sits in my living room on the cedar chest. I love to travel but there is nothing I like more than coming home :) by the way the sign reads “love at home” the squiggly is smoke coming out of the chimney not an “e”
Day 20 – Something you can’t live without.
This was a hard one for me because there are not a lot of things I think I can’t live without there are several things I wouldn’t want to live without and this is one – our my tea pot
Day 21 – Where You stand
I feel like I stand here a lot! Especially since there are only two of us :/ Any ways I would rather stand here than at the sink doing dishes and since Kenny prefers dishes to laundry… it works.
Day 22 Pink
Day 23 – Technology
I am not a “tech-y” but my phone broke and I didn’t have time to go down to Hickory to exchange my phone, so Kenny did it for me. I don’t even know how to use half of the things this phone can do… :/ oh well!
Day 24 – Something New
A check stub! In case you haven’t heard, I am no longer a barber but instead I am a North Carolina State employee! :) I work in the Senior Center cooking meals for over 150 people every week day.
Day 25 – Unusual
Its no secret that Kenny and I are trying to save money to eventually buy a house, well, one of our highest bills each month is electricity so…. I made my own clothes line on our front porch… with extension cords :) Don’t worry, I plan on buying a real clothes line and putting it some other place than the front porch very soon, I just haven’t made it to the store yet.
Day 26 – 12 O’ Clock
Day 27 – Something Sweet
Day 28 – The Weather Today
Day 28 – A Number
I do have a picture of my Mom but… its on someone else’s camera :/ but here are the pictures of different “Mum’s” in our church.
Ivalee is our oldest mother at 86
Jo is our youngest mother at 28
Jean is themother with the most children, she has 6.
Chastity has 5 children but she got her flowers because she is our newest mother – she has a two week old boy.
Mrs. Jackie is our honorary mother this year. The last two years our honorary mothers did not have any children but they have a large part in our children’s ministry. This year we gave that award to Mrs. Jackie, she has two children of her own but she has opened her doors to help several children who need to know love and hear the gospel. Every Sunday Mrs. Jackie walks in to church with at least two children she’s “adopted.” That’s quite a mother :)
The teens tell me that I say this a lot, I never realized it until one of the girls asked me if i ever said anything else… That’s exciting :/ …guess not!
Day 9 – Something You do Everyday
Ok, so I know this is a little strange to take a picture of my flat iron but it really is something I do EVERYDAY. I don’t go anywhere unless my hair is fixed. :)
Day 8 – A Smell You Adore
Kenny thought I should put his picture up here for today but he doesn’t always smell so nice so… :) I’m a candle fan, and for my candle scents of choice – Vanilla, Mulled Cider, Buttered Rum, Cookie, Cinnamon, basically anything that smells or relates to food! One thing I adore is walking into my house and it smelling like something is in the oven – its a very home-y, inviting smell for me.
What’s your favorite scents?
Day 6 – You
This isn’t a picture of me but rather who I want to be. Last year before Kenny and I got married I stumbled upon “Revive Our Hearts – The Counter-cultural Woman” series. I was so blessed, encouraged and convicted about being a godly wife and future mother that I decided I would go back each year and do some kind of study on the Proverbs 31 woman for our wedding anniversary. Its hard to believe that Kenny and I will celebrate our 1st anniversary in less than a month! So needless to say this passage of scripture has been steady on my mind and heart. I am learning to love this woman and slowly realizing that God didn’t put her in our Bible to make us feel guilty about what we are not doing, but to show us that her actions were done in love, a love for her family, for those around her and, most importantly a love for her God – my God. If you get the chance I hope you’ll go and read about her, she’s an amazing woman!
Day 4 – Fun!
Something I’ve really come to love doing recently is taking pictures of flowers. It’s the simple things that make me really happy :) These are pictures I’ve taken the last couple days – really I just couldn’t choose one to put on here – I like them all!
Day 3 – Something you wore today
All you get today is a picture of my shirt… I took several shots this morning and didn’t like any that showed my face (I always look goofy when I take a self portrait, plus trying to get my outfit in the picture…) Any ways this shirt was a hand-me-down (which I love getting because I don’t have to pay for it), its cute and, believe it or not, when I’m cutting hair this shirt repels the hairs, so its perfect for working in the barbershop! (which is what I’m doing today)
So there you have it :) Something I am wearing today.
Day 2 – Skyline
I stopped to check the mail at the Post Office and noticed this chapel for the first time. This is the “Benjamin F. Long Chapel” at the Crossnore School in our little town.
Any one who has followed my blog for very long can tell you I’m not the most consistent blogger. Entering in this challenge really will be a challenge for me if for no other reason than simply getting my posts in each day! You can read all about this challenge and the “prompt words” for each day at Fat Mum Slim.
Day 1 – Peace
My “peace” picture is inspired by a couple songs we sing at church one is called “I’ve Got Peace Like a River” – its a kids song – and the other is “By The Still Waters of Peace.”
The picture below is the same river as the one above but it was taken yesterday after a major storm.
